Stephen Keshi resigns as Super Eagles Coach
Stephen Keshi has tendered his letter of resignation as coach of Nigeria Super Eagles after winning AFCON 2013.
Reports from Sport Live has it that:
Nigerian soccer authorities are pulling out all stops to convince him to stay. They will meet him in the capital Abuja when the new African soccer champions land in the West African country later today.
“There is a meeting scheduled between ‘The Big Boss’ (Keshi) and officials of the federation on their arrival in Nigeria,” said a source last night.
Keshi dropped the bombshell on the Metro FM soccer show last night when he told host Robert Marawa that he submitted his letter of resignation after lifting the AFCON trophy on Sunday.
He said the Nigerian soccer bosses did not show confidence in the Super Eagles and that they had booked flights back home on the eve of the Eagles’ first round match against Ivory Coast.
Though, there are also unconfirmed rumors that he might withdraw the letter as many people had notify the Coach to let the past pass even as we felicitate and celebrate his achievement under tight situations and his impact on national development.
