Keep off South West, Oodua Peoples Congress warns Boko Haram Sect

| June 25, 2012

Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) has warned the Boko Haram Sect to back off the South West Zone.Founder and President of OPC, Dr. Frederick Fasehun on Sunday warned the Radical sect group not to “export” its violence to Yorubaland.

He said though Boko Haram’s current agitation justified OPC’s age-old demand for a Sovereign National Conference, his organisation would read the attack of the region as a declaration of war.

Fasehun said, “Nigeria has been experiencing some muscle flexing that has led to the death of many voters within the North. However since such muscle flexing isn’t pitching geographical zones against each other, OPC has continually felt that Nigeria’s current crisis has not assumed warfare proportions.

“We sympathise with those that have causes to struggle for. However, we tend to believe that native struggles for social justice ought to be contained among native boundaries.
