A Manchester United player has been arrested for “lewd behavior” after being caught making love with a teenage girl in the street.
Defender Luke McCullough, 18 years old, who was captain of United’s Academy squad, was caught on CCTV (camera) making out with the young woman at 5am after a night out.
The Irish teenager – described by Old Trafford bosses as the “new Jonny Evans” – was said to have got “overly amorous’ with the girl in Liverpool’s Concert Square.
The couple were cautioned by the police, they picked their clothes and walked away but just a few yards away before they started around round.
Police were sent back to the scene and arrested both for public order offences.
Northern Ireland under-17 captain and center back McCullough together with the girl were held in police cells for several hours before being issued with a caution and sent home.
One police source said: “The pair of them were spotted on CCTV in a virtual state of undress but it was only when they move to a doorway we had to send a patrol out.
“They were all over each other and they just couldn’t help themselves. Officers told them to move on and they agreed but they didn’t get very far before they were at it again.
“We had no choice to arrest them because all and sundry would have seen what they were up to. Why they didn’t just get a room is beyond us.”
Manchester United described McCullough as an “accomplished defender who is building his reputation as a powerful, commanding presence.”
