| June 19, 2012

State of Emergency in Kaduna – The FG of Nigeria has revealed plans to declare a state of emergency rule in Kadun.

President Goodluck Jonathan was considering declaring a state of emergency in Kaduna State to curb the spate of violence that followed Sunday’s bombings of 3 churches.

Jonathan on Monday held separate conferences with the Senate President, David Mark; Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Musdapher Dahiru; and the Chief of Defence, Air Chief Marshal Oluseyi Petinrin, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Sources said the conferences centred on the chance of imposing a state of emergency if the reprisals within the state continued.

“Vengeance isn’t ours. we have a to leave vengeance to God; still charm to the folks that are behind it to reason and place this off as a result of it not being in the best interest of Nigeria.
